My wife, Agnes, and I were attacked at my place of work at Utanga/Amana Control Post, Cross Rivers State, by gun-wielding robbers in the wee hours of December 9, 2000. In the course of the robbery, I was shot at close range. The ring finger of his left hand went off. The second shot got me on one of my legs. I was rushed to Obudu Clinic, about 40 kilometers away. I stayed in the clinic, overnight. The following morning, he was referred to Hopeville Hospital in Gboko.
Before I was brought to Hopeville, my leg where I was shot had gone numb. A few days after he began treatment, using the illzarov technique, I began to move the leg. Previously, my muscles were not working, but now I can move my muscles. It is fast and neat way of treating patients with bone problem.
